Lamisil products are used to treat fungal (tinea) infections of the skin such as athletes foot, "jock itch", and ringworm, pityriasis and candida skin infections. Lamisil contains Terbinafine which works by killing dermatophytes and killing or stopping the growth of yeasts.
Lamisil Cream is usually applied once or twice daily. It is important to clean and thoroughly dry the affected areas before applying Lamisil Cream. Apply the cream to the affected skin and surrounding area in a thin layer and rub it in lightly. If you need to apply the cream between your toes, fingers or buttocks, under a breast or armpit, or in the groin region, the area may be covered with gauze after applying the cream. This is particularly useful at bedtime.
Lamisil Cream is for external use only. Wash your hands after using the cream. Avoid applying the cream near your eyes, or touching your eyes while you still have the cream on your hands.
Terbinafine hydrochloride1% (w/w)
Lamisil skin products should not be used by people who are allergic to the drug terbinafine or to any other ingredient in the products. Experience with using Lamisil in children is limited. Therefore, the use of Lamisil in children is not usually recommended. It should not usually be used by pregnant women or those who are trying to become pregnant, unless on your doctor's advice. You should not use Lamisil if you are breastfeeding.
Some people may experience redness, itchiness or a stinging sensation in the areas where Lamisil has been applied. Although these symptoms are normally harmless, you should nevertheless tell your pharmacist if they occur, as you may be experiencing an allergy to Lamisil. If your pharmacist confirms you are suffering an allergy to Lamisil, you should stop using it.
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. Store below 25°C.
