Betadine Sore Throat Gargle Ready To Use

Betadine® Ready to Use Sore Throat Gargle kills most bacteria and viruses implicated in sore throat (pharyngitis) within 30 seconds and may be used as an aid in the treatment of such an infected sore throat. A convenient measure is included inside each pack to help ensure correct dosage. As winter approaches each year, so too does the likelihood of throat infection. Did you know that up to 90 percent of all adult sore throats are caused by viruses? This means that anti-bacterial lozenges, which are a popular choice for many, may not be effective for the majority of sore throats. With the antibacterial and antiviral power of povidone-iodine, the Betadine® Sore Throat range of gargles offers support against sore throats. This gargle form of treatment offers the advantage of targeting the site and cause of bacterial or viral throat infections. However, it should be noted that in a bacterial sore throat, the infection is deep in the tissues where antiseptics will often not be effective. For this reason, if the sore throat does not respond in two days or is accompanied by fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, medical attention should be sought.

Pour Betadine Gargle to the fill line of the measuring cup provided (15ml) and gargle for 30 seconds. Do not swallow. Repeat every 3 to 4 hours if necessary.

Betadine Sore Throat Gargle contains Povidone-Iodine 7.5% equiv to 0.75% w/v available Iodine.

A severe sore throat accompanied by fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, or any sore throat persisting for more than 2 days may be serious. In such cases consult a doctor. Do not use Betadine if hypersensitive to Iodine.
If irritation, redness or swelling develops, discontinue treatment and consult a Doctor.
Do not use in pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding.
Do not swallow.
